Hee!
Okay, so I apologize for being like, 2 years old, and yes, I do realize I'm going to be a doctor and I'm going to have to hold myself together and be professional about things like arrows pointing up the butts of men in diagrams. But c'mon, you gotta admit, it's pretty funny.
To hold over the N&M (Nutrition & Medicine) aficionados until I'm able to post at length, a factoid about those famed Omega-3 Fatty Acids:
- Omega-3's and Omega-6 Fatty Acids are fats that we are physically unable to make by ourselves.
- Omega-3's are believed to be anti-inflammatory in nature, and help regulate the cell membranes in your body (as well as other things that require fats as precursors). These are "good" fats, and are found in, among other things, wild cold-water oily fish, walnuts, omega-3 enriched eggs, and flax seed.
- Omega-6 Fatty Acids are structurally similar, but have a very different effect on your body: they are pro-inflammatory, and can exacerbate disease or pre-disease conditions. These exist in farmed poultry, eggs, grains, cereals, and oils.
- It is very important not to assume that the fish you eat is full of Omega-3's. Firstly, if a fish isn't a cold-water fish, it isn't really a good source. Secondly, if a fish isn't wild, it isn't a good source--If you are eating farmed fish (like farmed poultry), you are actually ingesting Omega-6 Fatty Acids instead: since farmed fish & poultry are fed Omega-6-filled grains, and the food they eat becomes the building blocks for their physiology, they too become Omega-6-filled.
- So if you're trying to ingest lotsa Omega-3's, make sure you're buying wild, cold-water oily fish, like salmon, herring, mackerel, and sardines. Tuna is good too (it's oily), but has lower levels of Omega-3's. Additionally, try to buy organic, range-fed poultry (and the eggs from such poultry), as well as grass-fed beef. When animals are allowed to eat natural plant & insect products instead of commercial grains, they have higher Omega-3:Omega-6 ratios.

"Haha! My co-worker thought (your melon comment) was funny too"
