In college I did children's cancer research, and my career aspiration was to become a pediatric oncologist. Then I went through the process of opening my mind and horizons to all of the possible exciting opportunities that were open to me in medicine. So I explored, and I fell in varying degrees of love with the following specialties*: infectious disease, general pediatrics, emergency medicine, breast (cancer) surgery, minimally invasive surgery, obstetrics, outpatient gynecology, family medicine, med-peds. And after the past week: pediatric oncology. Full circle.
*this list is not comprehensive. I hate loving everything, and being really indecisive. I envy people who are single-minded and obstinate. I wish I had more time.
This week's fitness update:
Superbowl Sunday 2/01 - Arm workout #2, 30min run
Tues 2/03 - Eric went to the gym, I rested bc I took a nasty spill on some ice and had some hardcore knee & hip pain. Which I continue to have but just ignore.
Wed 2/04 - Pilates
Fri 2/06 - 30min treadmill, hardcore legs
Sat 2/07 - 50min treadmill (me) / track (E), hardcore abs
We've been doing really well, but I have to admit that I'm getting hungry for really sh*tty foods. Last night we went out to eat, and I ate like a starved person. Then I bought a quart of ice cream at Cold Stone... but luckily fell asleep before I ate any. All this working out makes me sleepy, furreal, yo.
