Tantalizing

I'm sitting in the dining room trying to get started with some serious catch-up, but the smell of a delicious dinner is totally distracting me. Eric, Eva and I started a ritual where each of us cooks the others a meal one night each week. Tonight's Eric's night, and he's making a lamb vindaloo that is teasing the hell out of my anticipatory eating neurons. They're firing away, yelling WANT TO EAT! NOW! But wait I must--Eva's not back yet.

Last night I made a kabocha curry, and it was pretty good. Some tweaking, and it'll be awesome next time. Hoorah!

oo, strange! I mean charming! What'd you sister's psychic say?

Do you mean prophecies are fulfilled only because people believe they're true? I bet you loved Hermione in the 3rd book.

In all seriousness, I think palm readings and such at most show what could happen to you, but I think my ultimate fate is up to me, depending on my wants and my will. Interesting because earlier, I was just reading about intervention (vs. alternative cause) ie: being able to change the course of the future (it's this book about time). But some of what she said was spooky nonetheless.

Why is it that my voice of reason often sounds so much like Jess? I dunno, but I'm glad it's there!
