Goodbye, Locust Walk

The FABLE lab group took me to Greek Lady for a farewell lunch today. We took a slight detour so that we could stroll down Locust Walk. The squirrels were doing their usual scampering-across-the-Walk and jumping-out-of-trashcans bit. There were a bunch of faculty on liesurely end-of-semester walks with their stroller-bound children, and the pockets of rowdy seniors getting ready for Walnut Walk. Coming back over the bridge after lunch, a wave of sadness hit me: I was walking away from SuperBlock, from Penn, forever. It took me a good while for Philadelphia to grow on me, but it did so in a really powerful way. I love this city, and I'm going to miss it dearly.

Goodbye, Philadelphia.

[I know some of you (Eric) are thinking, "you're so melodramatic, you'll be back," but what I mean is that I'll never LIVE here again. Eeesh!, leave me be. :) ]

Eric? Eric??? yeesh!!! I kissed the compass goodbye 1 year ago... sure since then I've crossed it a dozen times, but don't even get me started on being sentimental. I'm the king of sentimental. Or atleast I miss being the king of sentimental.
