It's the week I've long been anticipating! With Alias, birthdays, a farewell party for a coworker, and a visit from Eric lined up, I've been looking ahead to the tomorrow & beyond with plenty of anticipation.
Imagine my pleasant surprise to find the celebrations arriving a day early! This morning, as I walked up to the bus stop, I saw that the corner florists were selling lilacs-- my hard-to-find favorite. They were in beautiful pots, lining the storefront in happy exclamations of springtime:
After work, I met with Angie on the corner of 36th & Spruce, per her instructions. "I need to drop by Van Pelt before we go do our thing, is that okay?" she asked. So I followed her into the library and down to Rosengarten, and as she led me toward good ol' 101.3, she said, "Close your eyes!" So I did, and awaiting me was...
a blackboard card, balloons, a kimchi fried rice "cake", Flipz (for old-times' sake), a framed photo of myself going over PChem in 101.3, and my very own copy of Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe!!!!
We lit a candle and I blew it out, and we reminisced. I have such funderful friends. Happy birthday eve to me! :)

Jess, I love the card! It makes me happy just to look at it, and then I read the message inside and felt even happier- who needs felix felicis? If I were a Darling, I'd be flying right now. And I am totally looking forward to visit you in Pitt next year, wooooo!
Remember that toast I made last night? Well, there was a second part to it that I didn't get around to saying, but I'll let you know next time.
